Elio Ciol; I love his B&W works and his visions of nature and cityscapes. Beautiful his color prints. Unexpected!

Jerry N. Uelsmann; I love this guy, I really do. The compositions of his B&W works and the surreal visions are very inspiring to me.  All his works are done in negative and in dark room, no photoshop. VISIONARIO!

Luisa Menazzi Moretti; I really liked her ability of mixing image and word compositions. ARTFULL!

Jefferson  Hayman; Dreaming photography of graphic art. Old time flavor, prints silver gelatin. DELICATE!

Maggie Taylor; Misterious. Visionary. She is the top master for photoshop works but what I like most is that she uses several compositions of daguerreotype pieces she collects with objects she photographs to make an unique image. Each image can be made of ten other shots until she gets what she wants. The result is an amazing fairy tale world, populated by fantastic characters and imaginary places. PURE ART!

Pierre Pellegrin; Essential photos. Great composition. One to watch. SIMPLE BUT HEARTFUL

Luigi Ghirri; What can one say about this photographer which hasn’t yet been told? I am impressed by his ability of changing from work to work without ever loosing his style. The works shown at MIA are delicate and absolutely beautiful. ROSE PINK 60′s MOOD!

Angelo Cricchi; What I liked of his project “Imaginary portraits” is the idea. He re-evoked some women famous suicides like Francesca Woodman, Marylin Monroe, Diane Arbus, Frida Kahlo, etc in real locations where the characters have been or with objects really used by the person portrayed.  COURAGEOUS!

Joe Oppedisano; At first sight his pictures reminds me Galimberti’s Polaroids but then in a closer sight, you realize there’s a huge difference. He manipolated his camera to get those effects shooting in negative. Beautiful prints with the collaboration of Antonio Manta one of the best printers in my opinion. AMAZING!

Yeonju Sung; Her project Wearable foods is unbelievable. All the works are done in studio, no photoshop interaction except to clean the support done to freeze the pictures. All the dresses in the shots are all done with vegetables and fruit. EATABLE LOOK!

Natale Zoppis; Interesting way of using photography to compose artful objects. Absolutely to see if you haven’t seen his works yet. SACRED ART!

Giuseppe Mastromatteo; Repeated but I like the work done in post production. Nude bodies with insertion in post production of their own part of body. STRIKING!

Andreas H. Bitesnich; B&W or colour this a photographer I like most and the kind of nude photography I mostly would like to achieve in the future.  SCULPTURAL!

Carlo D’Orta; Amazing composition and clour research in architectural landscape. So graphic and inspiring. DRAWING SPACES!

Evelyn Ruma; is a brasilian photographer I met here and who touched my heart for the beautiful work she does for children without a home and disabled people. ONE TO WATCH!

Let’s say that those were the ones that captured my eyes right away. Of course, it’s just a quick note about the entire exhibition, there were many of my favourites like Guido Harari, Giampaolo Barbieri, Gianni Berengo Gardin, Maurizio Galimberti, Nino Migliori, Massimo Listri, Ferdinando Scianna, etc.

Now let’s wait for MIA Fair Singapore! Who knows if it will be the proper time for a Monica Silva exhibition for MIA’s first abroad opening? Time only will tell…

Out now Style Magazine Corriere della Sera. In this month’s issue an editorial on farming passion and my pictures of Gad Lerner writer and TV presenter and the politician Gregorio Gitti. Dont’ miss it! Soon a dedicated gallery.

If I read the list of the Top Ten books on the Corriere’s La Lettura today, I naturally space my mind on some points. 5 titles are of great authors of the past (Lucio Aneo Seneca, Fëdor Dostoevsky, Edgar Allan Poe, Sigismund Freud, Jane Austen, two are from Jorge Mario Bergoglio, the new pope, and two contemporary authors which are Andrea Camilleri and Roberto Saviano.
To be a writer today I think it’s not that easy, especially for the immense opportunities that internet offers to those who want to write novels or whatever came into their minds, and publishers continuously churn out books waiting for a new sales milestone like that of E . L. James on “50 shades of grey.”
So for me remains only the knowledge that the choice is huge and to grant for success is not at reach of everyone. In all this I have a question: among the top ten of this week but also the week before, I noticed that there is always Freud, with “The dream and its interpretation,” is that we need the analyst Freud to give us an interpretation of the state of mind in which we find ourselves nowadays? Or is it maybe that we are living in “The Big Sleep”, from the author Raymond Chandler? Among other things, title one must read at least once in one’s lives, as well as watch the movie with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall drawn from the same novel.

Luckly, I realize that in me never disappears the love of reading and never, as often happens to me, disappeears the inspirations for future projects. By the way, my reading now is “Written on the body” from Jeanette Winterson ” “I want you to come to me without a past … the phrases you’ve learned forget them! Forget you attended other places, other bedrooms, come to me as if it were the first time … do not say I love you until the day in which it did not show.”

I am a lucky one because I have the credit of the most important professional photography brands existing today and if I come to think how it all started it would take some days to recollect all the most amazing events since I started in the photography business.

Photoshow 2013, one week is already gone and I hardly believe it all happen. Lots of people, tons of emotions and heartbeat in every sense. The kind of photography I do, is mainly intimate, almost secret and expose myself and my subject on a stage, wasn’t that easy. Specially when you are e perfectionist as I am. But i should say that I was glad to be involved in this year’s issue by Nital.

The company owned by Winkler family, loves with passion their work and invest a lot in any photographer should he or her be a professional or an amateur and it can be clearly seen in the attention they give to their costumers. Much more is coming up, a brand new studio open to professionals and exhibition areas and a pool of selected groups willingly to participate to the events that will take place in Torino.

In this Photoshow I met many professionals and amateur and could witness the passion thru their eyes.  The result was unbelievable, the amount of people in the stand was huge and all the efforts from Nital to do their best was obvious.

It was amazing the number of people connected on web streaming the second day, it reached points of 6.000 people simultaneously! That’s the result when one do things with passion. In this post you will find some links to see a portion of what happen thru  videos and the result of my shooting session which was really an intro but I brought some really nice shots from the wonderful girls, my model one reproduction the Jan Vermeer’s masterpiece “The girl with the pearl earing” and a second more sportif.
