Mario Dondero and Monica Silva

“There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” Colin Powell

This is a very special picture to me. It was taken on unexpected encounter with the great Mario Dondero, a historical  master of photography,  a shot done with an Iphone by the artist Gianluigi Colin. I will never forget Dondero’s humanity and little boy’s eager eyes trying to freeze with his old film Leica camera, every moment we had at lunch in a restaurant close to Corriere della Sera.

The world of art has an important role in my life and work. Many times I get inspirations and develop ideas just reading a page of a book. I see a photo, an installation or a painting and as magic I get the illumination for what  I want to photograph.  In the last year and half I have been photo covering for the artist Gianluigi Colin reproductions of his works, witnessing the birth of  new art pieces,  and backstages published mainly in his art books and exhibitions reviews and lately one more great artist was added to my experience: Marco Nereo Rotelli who involved me recently in his latest exhibition at Palazzo Avino Ravello.

I confess that it started really going on me. It’s an opportunity to learn, to observe, to inspire. It’s more than work! It’s respect, admiration and learning on the field.

Artists that I loop up to are Cy Twombly, Marcel Duchamp, Robert Rauschenberg, Salvador Dali, Pablo Picasso, Damien Hirsch, Andy Warhol, Man Ray just to mention a few.

Regarding “Photography ” I will post an article dedicated later on.
